In addition, the company provides coal handling and barging, sea transportation, terminal handling, farming, investment, power plant, port, water, and mud treatment services; electric power supply; transmission, distribution, and sale of electricity; water management support; metal processing; and coal trading services. It exports its products to China, Malaysia, India, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, and internationally. The company was formerly known as PT Adaro Energy and changed its name to PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk in February 2022. PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Latar Belakang
PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk. (ADRO) merupakan perusahaan energi yang terintegrasi secara vertikal di Indonesia dengan bisnis di sektor batubara, energi, utilitas dan infrastruktur pendukung. Disamping itu ADRO juga mempunyai lini bisnis seperti logistik dan ketenagalistrikan yang terintegrasi melalui anak-anak perusahaan dan ketenagalistrikan. Lokasi utama operasional Adaro berada di propinsi kalimantan selatan. Produk utama Adaro adalah Environcoal, batubara termal dengan kadar polutan yang rendah. Adaro Energy juga memiliki aset batubara metalurgi yang beragam mulai dari batubara kokas semi lunak sampai batubara kokas keras premium. Untuk ekspor, pada tahun 2017, AI mencatat output dan penjualan batubara masing-masing 47,7 juta ton dan 50,4 juta ton, atau hanya 6% dan 5% lebih rendah daripada tahun 2016. AI menjual ke pasar ekspor dengan porsi yang lebih besar, terutama ke negara-negara Asia Pasifik (China dan India) , sedangkan porsi penjualan ke pasar domestik relatif stabil.
